BISP Shifts to Direct Bank Transfers
The Government of Pakistan has introduced a new method of disbursing money under the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP). From August 14, 2025, eligible women in selected urban areas will have their stipends directly deposited into their bank accounts.
This direct bank transfer system will make the payment process safer, faster, and more transparent, giving women complete control over their money. There will be no interest on the funds at all.
The new system, called Direct Payment Receipt, allows BISP to send money directly to the personal bank accounts of registered women, eliminating cash payments and dependence on third parties.
